@geengeena I can definately say that I have eaten the whole spectrum of food lifestyles from meat eating, to veganism, and vegetarianism, natural hygiene, I also have eaten 80 percent raw, and now I am at a 100 percent raw, I can tell you, being a 100 percent raw gives you the most vitality, and spirituality ever. I believe it’s not about food worship, it’s about worshipping our body temple with the highest vibration we can put into it!!!!

“Let thy food be thy medicine and let thy medicine be thy food.” Hippocrates, the founder of the practice of medicine, began every single one of his classes with this statement.

50% wont make you feel better, you have to eat less than 10% cooked to get the true benefit, as this causes less white blood cells being sent out to protect you from the toxins of cooking!

Anyone interested in raw foods for healing purposes should watch Dying to Have Known on google videos. It’s truly amazing.

You will feel more spiritual when you eat 100% raw. All the outer and inner senses are enhanced. You feel every centimeter of yourself. Cooking food is a cultural thing, that’s why its a study. If you were raised raw than it’s an everyday thing.

Check out the 400 pound trucker on youtube and you may change your mind about eating raw…Check out his story. He is living proof and he has medical documentation to prove his claims. Peace and Blessings

Misterrgerbil – I admit i was instantly got turned off by the voiceover telling us that this is the way we were supposedly designed to live. I’ve done my research and I don’t believe there is sufficient evidence to back this claim up. Don’t get me wrong – I am a fan of living foods and not knocking them. I’m just wary of people trying to sell raw foodism as the only way humans should be. that’s just he impression I get. Not trying to offend anyone!

wittsgirl – I’m not mocking anyone. I’ve known people suffering from orthorexia and I myself felt that I was heading down that path a while back, and I was just offering my point of view. Rawism has its pluses, but can also be harmful if approached overzealously. That’s all I meant. And that spaced out ecstatic feeling you get eating living foods is not enlightenment. It comes after a long hard process of giving up attachments, human delusions and desires. I’m still working on that

Very few raw vegans would be eating raw potatoes.
Cooking foods only gives it taste if you use seasonings/spices… you can use seasonings/spices on living foods, just as easily.
August 27th, 2010 at 10:50 pm
Geen – I understand your aversion to extremism, but be aware that you contradict your own motives. You say, ” Go with what feels right for you” and then you mock those who experience enlightenment through the living foods diet…
I doubt you’ll “see” what I mean, but it did strike me as amusing…

Notice the video starts with “Body, Mind and Spirit”. I never once say raw food is all it takes- but it’s a damn good start and the easiest of the three to jump-start a new life. Everyone I know that took it seriously had amazing results. This isn’t extremism- every life form on the planet eats this way except humans who get diabetes, cancer etc. This isn’t food worship- it’s plain eating right, the way nature designed.

I eat around a 60 % raw diet and I definitely feel great. However, I dislike the way rawism is promoted as the ideal diet for humans and the cure for all human ills. I dislike any kind of extremism and prefer to take things in moderation.Food isn’t the only way to be healthy – it’s like when people claim to be enlightened through fasting or raw diets lol True enlightenment comes from a spiritual cultivation practice not from food worship..Go with what feels right for you

I used to live in East Africa in a town where there wasnt a can of food in sight and hardly any household fridges/freezers. Everything there was was fresh and all food was organically grown. Here in the West, its different. Everthing is in a tin can and nearly all fresh products have been exposed to chemicals. This is the problem. But to cook your food gives it a bit of taste and kills any bacteria present. I mean who would want to eat a plate of raw courgettes or raw potato? Yuck.
August 28th, 2010 at 12:35 am
fdama: Raw food is a very long way from being tasteless – it only seems that way to you because your tastebuds have become desensitised due to the immense number of chemical additives present in processed foods. Don’t forget the human digestive system evolved to eat raw unprocessed food – just like every other animal on the planet. It’s the modern diet (whose main function is not to produce well-nourished humans, but to produce maximum profits for the food corporations), that’s fucked up.

Yeah, I eat 80/10/10 (80 % carbohydrates) and average 2700-3000 kcal / day. 6′ tall 132 lbs. Don’t excercise much.
I’ll stop eating sweet fruits, go over to eating mostly greens and non-sweet fruits and let’s see what happens.
