Colon Detox Is Something That Most Us Need

Article by Paul Rodgers

Colon detox is the process of clearing toxins from the body or neutralizing or transforming them, and clearing excess mucus and congestion. Having a colon detox is quite common these days and it is basically a process of flushing away the congested toxins which are built up around the walls of the colon. Colon detox is performed in three major ways: through a diet, through manual cleansing of the colon or by using medication. Whether a colon detox is achieved with diet, medications, or a clinical procedure, it’s important to understand that colon detox is a considerable undertaking that should not be overdone.

To begin with, a healthy body requires a better diet. A big part of these toxins come from our daily diet. These excessive toxins and mucus usually build up due to bad diet, stress, drugs and medications, chemical and food preservatives and parasites. A diet that’s high in fiber content serves as a cure and at the same time prevents waste elimination problems. People are eating less meat and dairy protein because they want to lower fat, cholesterol, and chemicals in their diet. Eat twice as many vegetables as you would have in your usual diet. Fruits andvegetables rich in soluble fiber include apples, oranges, grapefruit, carrots and brocolli so these should definetly be included in the diet. With a simple change in diet, you’ll no longer feel constipated, abdominal pain, rectal pain and bloating.

Colon detox or also known as colon cleansing is very helpful to those who are suffering from food intolerance, cellulite, and weight problems. Cleansing is necessary to rid our body of toxins that accumulate as a result of an unhealthy diet, environmental pollution and chemicals, and a constant use of antibiotics. Cleansing your colon would be that you are flushing out toxins that would result to a healthier body system.

Proper cleansing colon detox will help :1- reduce food intolerance, 2- improve skin appearance, 3- reduce cellulite, 4- improve energy, 5- reduce weight, and6- enhance immune function.

Due to the elimination of bodily wastes, the cleansing effect also reflects in the improvement of the skin’s appearance. As with all colon cleanse therapies, a herbal colon detox is helped along by healthy (but not excessive) intake of water and a colon-cleansing diet rich in grains, fruit and vegetables for long-term colon health.

Colon detox is something that most us need. Is it any wonder that in every other health discussion colon detox is a part of the discussion. One of the most influential aids to the colon detox is drinking sufficient water to help cleanse your system and to keep it hydrated. Another advantage of a colon detox is it aids in theabsorption and production of vitamins and enzymes, ensuring the processes are carried out correctly. A colon detox is best done under a doctor’s care.

I highly recommend Bowtrol colon cleanse as it is made from 100% natural ingredients and is suitable for kids and the elderly who may not have a strong stomach to try the other alternatives. The ingredients in Bowtrol add up to doing what Bowtrol suggests will occur if you follow their instructions in the use of the product. All in all, unless you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients Bowtrol is a good natural colon cleanse.

Question by curious: What is the most safe and effective way to cleanse your colon?
I would like to cleanse my colon but I want a safe as well as effective way to do it. I have seen pictures of peoples stools after they have used colon cleansers and I couldn’t believe all the massive release of yearly buildup shown in those pictures. I would also like to expel any and all buildup in my colon as well.

A healthy diet with plenty of fiber should make colon cleansing unnecessary. A person who eats lots of fast food, iceberg lettuce and no fruits or vegetables may need occaisonal hydrotherapy.

What is the best and most natural colon cleanser?

Question by Antidote: What is the best and most natural colon cleanser?
There are way too many colon clensers on the market. What is the best and most natural colon cleanser out there? Has anyone had any previous experience with one? How much weight did you lose?

Best answer:

Answer by Bernard G
You are right! The market is flooded with them but unfortunately most of them are terrible. In fact, you will be lucky to find a natural cleanser. I personally used Purity 12 and lost almost 9 pounds of weight. I was surprised because I tried quite a few cleansers previously and none of them worked. I actually recommended it to one of my work mates who was struggling to lose a few pounds and it worked a treat for him as well. I think they have a free trial offer at the moment here http://rds.yahoo.com/**http%3a//tinyurl.com/qfwfw5 so you can actually try it out for free for 30 days and see how much weight you lose.

Digestive Enzymes: See the Most Important Supplement in Action

Enzymes are catalysts for every chemical reaction in the body. Everything built or broken down in the body require an enzyme. In digestion they are critical. Antacids are the highest prescription and over the counter drug sales annually. Do you have bloating, gas, food allergies or sensitivities? How about constipation, diarrhea or heartburn? Nothing beats digestive enzymes. Think you can digest your food without them? Take a video demonstration with Dr. Birchall and see the proof that enzymes work. Enzymes are needed because they aren’t present in food because of cooking, processing and irradiation. Food manufacturers destroy them on purpose so they can sit on the shelf longer. As we age we can’t make enough enzymes. Lastly, since we don’t chew our food well enough we don’t have mechanical digestion working for us. Instead our body has to rely on chemical digestion (enzymes). www.internapure.com www.internapure.com www.GeneticNutritionSolutions.com

Solutions to the Seven Most Common Sleep Myths-Part 1

www.deluxecomfort.com We all know that sleep is absolutely critical to feel your best, look your best and perform at your best — every day. A lack of sleep can result in issues such as decreased productivity, creativity and focus, but a continuous lack of sleep can lead to more serious health issues. Here are the solutions to the top seven myths about getting your daily sleep: Myth #1: Snoring may be annoying to a sleep partner, but it is never harmful. Fact: Snoring may be harmless, but it can also be a symptom of a life-threatening sleep disorder called sleep apnea, especially if it is accompanied by severe daytime sleepiness. Sleep apnea, or pauses in breathing while sleeping, prevents air flow, reduces oxygen levels and strains the heart and cardiovascular system, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Solution: Lose weight and if you suspect sleep apnea, get it checked out, for it is treatable. Myth #2: You can “cheat” on the amount of sleep you get. Fact: Sleep experts say that most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health and safety. When we don’t get adequate sleep, we accumulate a sleep “debt” that can be difficult to “pay back.” The result: sleep deprivation, which is linked to obesity, high blood pressure, mood swings, decreased productivity and safety issues in the home, on the job and on the road. Solution: Put your body and health first and get to bed early enough for your full eight hours of rest

Weight Loss: Tips About the Most Effective Way to Loss Weight

Weight loss has become an everyday topic across all ages in the American population today. You will agree with me that the population has quickly realized the extent to which obesity has become a serious health problem that needs immediate attention. The sad reality of the situation is the fact that it is not getting any better. More and more children and young adults are becoming over weight at an early age now than it was ten year ago. This scenario is accelerated by the fact that majority of the affected population give up the battle against weight control and give in to obesity.

I get asked almost everyday by different people who are looking for ways to loss weight for an effective weight loss method. I am sure this question sounds familiar to most people in our society today – or at least most of us can relate to it in one way or the other. I wish there was one simple and clear answer to this question, but the reality is there isn’t. This does not mean there are no solutions to over weight problem. To better understand the effectiveness of weight loss method, we need to consider the following facts:

Overweight is long term: It is a fact that weight does not built up over night, it takes months if not years. The rate at which people gain extra weight however varies with individuals based on different factors that include, but not limited to: metabolism, physical activities, calories consumed, genes and lifestyle among others. Among these factors, food is the chief source of extra body weight gain. Considering that an average adult requires an average of 2000 calories daily, majority of the people go beyond. The body only utilizes what it needs for energy production to sustain the body systems and the surplus is converted to fats and stored mainly around the belly area. The only way to get rid of this fat would be through work. Whatever method of weight loss you choose should be one that enables you to burn more calories than you consume. It is also important to remember that a healthy weight loss is a slow process that demands some sacrifices.

The rate of losing weight is relative to individual’s body weight: When all factors are kept constant, the rate at which an individual losses weight depend the individual’s extra body weight. An individual with a larger extra body weight tends to loss more than an individual with a smaller extra weight. For instance, when a group of overweight individuals are put through a similar training program for some weeks, it is possible to witness as high as a 50 pound weight loss from one and as low as 2 pounds from another. This picture often misleads many people especially when the extra or targeted weight is not given. It is therefore more meaningful to calculate the percentage of an individual’s weight loss relative to the overall extra body weight. Losing more weight doesn’t not always imply that an individual is better than the one who loses less.

Achieving a healthy body weight does not always mean losing weight. Most weight loss methods, for example recreational sports, facilitate muscle growth in the place of fat. This means that even though you are burning fat by going to the gym, running or jogging, the scale may still be reading the same weight or in some cases even more. In this situation, physical fitness rather than the scale reading should be used to judge one’s health status. Remember muscle weigh more than fat. Strive for a healthy status rather than a mere drop in pounds.

Sustainable body weight is achieved through gradual healthy weight loss methods: It is only natural for humans to want to loss all the extra weight as quickly as possible and forget about it. There are consequently hundreds if not thousands of weight loss pills readily available everywhere for this quick fix. The troubles with most of them are the site effects. Contrary to quick fix, weight loss must be both achievable and sustainable. Sustainable healthy weight require work and patience, there is no short cut!

Hints: An effective weight loss method must:

Have no negative effects on the body

Become part of one’s lifestyle

Fun and entertaining

Inexpensive and easy to perform

If you can’t think of any healthy weight loss method to use, here are some great options to choose from:

Running, Jogging, Walking, Swimming, Weight lifting, Synchronized exercises, hiking, skiing, biking, rock climbing, beach volley ball, tennis and Kayaking among others.

Be wise, choose what works for you and stick to it, make it part of your lifestyle, embrace it and you won’t have to worry about the scale.

Best Weight Loss Supplements – Most Effective Weight Gainers – Weight Lifting Supplements

Overweight is a main concern among many individuals in today’s world. Almost two-thirds of US population is overweight. Overweight is caused mainly due to unhealthy life style like smoking, drinking, keeping late hours, and eating junk, unhealthy food. It is important to reduce weight as excess body weight leads to heart disease, diabetes, uterine fibroids, and cancers of the colon, kidney, prostrate, female infertility and gallstones.

Though most of us know that losing weight is important but it is extremely difficult for most people to actually lose weight. There are several over the counter weight loss supplements that contain ephedrine or caffeine and help in assisting weight loss. Some of the prescribed medicines include phentermine, sibutramine and methamphetamine.

There are various natural weight loss supplements which include cayenne, yohimbine, guarana, green tea, bitter orange and guggul. It is believed that natural weight loss supplements work best and produce very good results. The black seeds of guarana contain caffeine can be used as stimulant. They help in increasing energy and mental awareness of individuals and are included in energy drinks.

Hoodia is a natural weight loss supplement and helps in suppressing appetite. It is a miracle treatment for obese people. It is one of the better known weight loss supplements, however not much experiments have been carried out on humans and one has to be extra careful while purchasing hoodia, as fake hoodia is rampant.

Another natural weight loss supplement is green tea which has antioxidant properties and help in reducing weight. It also helps in the metabolic rate of your body thereby helping in consuming more calories rather than being stored as fat cells.

Apple cider vinegar is a natural and effective weight loss supplement which is a fat burner and natural appetite suppressant. However, there have been examples of adverse effects of apple cider vinegar tablets. Studies have also shown that including cayenne in your diet helps in losing weight. Guarana contains caffeine and its compounds like theobromine and theophylline help in curbing appetite and aiding weight loss. However, guarana also stimulates the central nervous system and may result in anxiety and rapid heart rate. Combined with caffeine and herbs, ephedra is said to aid weight loss among individuals.

However, it has been banned by the US FDA in April because of safety issues. Garcinia Cambogia is another weight loss supplement which contains an enzyme that interferes with the body’s capability to store fat.

Though exercise and diet is still the doctor’s choice for weight loss, these natural supplements have been hugely popular among individuals. Natural weight loss supplements are made from natural ingredients and produce very little side effects. They are readily available and easy to purchase. Some even do not require a medical prescription, though, it is recommended to take medical advice before using these weight loss supplements. Weight loss supplements help in reducing cholesterol and also craving for food to a certain extent. Apart from using weight loss supplements, dietary changes and life style changes also help you in reducing weight.

Why Most Weight Loss Diets Don’t Work

If you’ve ever gone on a diet, you’ve learned two things: dieting is no fun. And even if you lose some weight, you usually gain it back. But why is that?

There is plenty of medical evidence to prove that dieting actually can make you fat. And that happens because your body goes to war with any weight loss diet. They aren’t natural and the body craves only a natural state of being. So as you struggle to find a weight loss diet that works, your body makes it tougher and tougher for that unnatural state to persist, which results in the negative effects of yo yo dieting: weight gain.

In this article, we examine the physical reasons why your body sabotages your efforts to diet. We’ll also look at ways to overcome them so your weight loss diet has a better chance of working.

Defense Mechanisms Overview

Our bodies have defense mechanisms that evolved in us throughout history. In early times, food shortages required the body to accumulate fat stores to protect against the lean times. And to this day,our bodies are still programmed this way, even though it’s no longer needed.

So when we go on a diet, the body thinks hard times are here so it goes into fat-storage mode to protect us. The more dieting you do, the more your body thinks it has to store fat. Your task,if you want to lose weight, is to outsmart the following defense mechanisms.

Metabolism

We often use the word metabolism – “I have a slow metabolism”, “I have a fast metabolism.” But what does it really mean in terms of a weight loss diet?

Metabolism refers to all the processes occurring in the body that are responsible for life: your heartbeat, your body temperature, breathing, and the burning of calories to create energy. Your metabolism determines how many calories your body burns to do its job. That’s how your metabolism can be influenced by any weight loss diet that restricts calories.

Repeated diets cause your body to slow down its metabolism in order to become more efficient and continue running on fewer calories. But when you end your diet and return to a normal caloric intake, your body isn’t used to burning all those calories, so it stores the leftover ones as fat. So to prevent that, you now have to eat much less than before just to maintain your new weight. In other words: your diet can never end in order to be successful. And a diet without end is a dire prospect for most of us.

Fat-Storing Enzymes

LPL enzymes store fat. That’s their job. When you diet, the LPL become more active and grow in number. The problem is, when you finish your diet, the LPL levels don’t return to normal until you regain most of the weight you lost.Another way your body makes weight loss dieting very difficult. (Don’t worry, we’ll provide some sensible weight loss diet suggestions that DO work at the end of this article.)

Calorie Absorption

When you diet, your intestines get super efficient at absorbing calories. They go into overdrive, trying to fully stock the body with nutrients by getting as many calories out of the food you eat as possible, not letting any pass out of the body. So the result is logical: dieting makes your intestines very good at absorbing and storing up calories. Exactly what you don’t want when you’re on a weight loss diet to lose pounds.

The Body Fat Dilemma

Poor dieting can make you fatter than you were before. That’s because when you lose the weight, it often comes from water and muscles. But when you gain it back, it returns in the form of fat. So you wind up with a higher proportion of fat to lean muscle than you had before.

Hormonal Disruptions

Low cal weight loss diets make your thyroid gland produce less of the hormone that regulates metabolism. And that can reduce your calorie burning ability by up to 15%. Not helpful for anyone trying to lose weight.

Skipping Breakfast

Missing meals may be the worst kind of weight loss diet because calories taken early in the day are burned off faster than those eaten at night. So skipping breakfast and eating more in the evening actually contributes to the weight problem. In fact, eating all your daily calories for breakfast can lead to weight loss, eating them all at night leads to weight gain.

Training Your Stomach

Overeating at meal time stretches out the stomach. That trains it to want more food in order to get that full feeling. But people who eat small meals more often need and want less food. The stomach can be trained over time to adapt to smaller meals and snacks taken throughout the day. When the stomach is smaller, it will fill faster and demand less food.

Beating Your Body’s Defense Mechanisms

As promised, here are some ways to override your body’s defenses and create a sensible, effective weight loss diet that really works:

1. Don’t yo-yo diet. Come up with a healthy weight loss diet plan and see it through until you get results.

2. Don’t drop calorie intake below 1,000 a day. The body sees this as a threat. Instead, eat enough calories that contain the right balance of nutrients like proteins and carbs while reducing fats.

3. Include fiber in any weight loss diet plan. It helps food and fats pass through the intestines quickly, rather than getting absorbed in the form of calories.

4. Avoid simple carbs like sugars: they are quickly absorbed by the body as blood sugar which increases insulin – the enemy of weight loss diets.

5. Drink caffeine in moderation for the same reason. It stimulates insulin secretion.

6. Never go hungry. Eating regular meals and snacks will help eliminate those dangerous cravings and keep your body’s defense mechanisms from going into starvation mode.

7. Eat more of your daily calories early in the day and less of them later.

8. Be content with slow weight loss. This prevents the body from going on defense and allows the weight loss to continue gradually.

9. Keep the weight off with exercise.

One More Thing

Even following these guidelines, some people who are obese or very overweight find it difficult to lose weight. For them, medication may help to support their weight loss diet.
