Question by : How fast would colon cancer grow in a 64 yr old man?
My Dad has cancer and they think it is colon but aren’t sure yet. Meanwhile a lump has been growing in his neck. That can be a sign of stage 3 colon cancer, but now it has grown so that he has trouble lifting his arm and it hurts and it grew to that in a matter of weeks. How bad is that? He is to start chemo next week.

Colon cancer is typically slow growing in anyone regardless of age.
If he has colon cancer in his neck it is stage 4.
I don’t understand how he could start chemo next week without knowing for sure what kind of cancer he has and it is not typical to have chemo before surgery unless it is a rectal or anal cancer.
