Thyroid Disease–Untold Cause of Infertility, Miscarriages and Still Birth

eHealthInsurance, 3 Easy Steps to Health Insurance, 300 x 250

Article by Uzo Onukwugha

This infertility treatment article is in response to a woman with secondary infertility, miscarriages with three still biths, low TSH (thyroid stimulating hormones) and normal T4. The tone of this article is conversational.

Please don’t blame your doctors because thyroid problems are difficult to diagnose. And pregnancy is a hidden thyroid stressor. Lack of symptoms or normal tests does not mean lack of problems. There are two main problems here:

1. Underlying systemic low-grade inflammation: You must listen to your whole body because pregnancy put a lot of stress on this little butterfly shaped gland below the Adam’s apple. Once your thyroid malfunctions, you must check your other organs, too.

2. Specific thyroid gland pathology (hidden hyperthyroidism): Silently there may be low grade inflammation of the thyroid. Tests like TSH and T4 may be normal or even low and yet symptoms persist. I will explain why…because that’s your concern.

Hormones are chemical messengers produced by ductless or endocrine glands in the body that is carried through the blood. Hormones are secreted in one organ but exert their effect in another or distant organs or glands.

There are 3 main hormones that are associated with the thyroid.

*TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) secreted by the pituitary gland in the mid-brain; it controls the release or stimulation of…*T4 (tyrosine) which is the major but inactive thyroid hormone. T4 is usually converted to…*T3 (triidothyronine)–the active hormone causing all the trouble and which hardly picked up the the tests. So when T3 is high, hidden and raging, TSH is suppressed (low levels). Yet T4 may be normal or even below normal. This solves your puzzle. Most tests and doctors miss this until it is too late. It is interesting to know that the thyroid gland regulate everything from your temperature, respiration, basal metabolic rate (weight control), pulse/heart rate as well as fertility and libido.

There is what we call specificity and sensitivity of a test. Where you may have false positives and true negatives. Most thyroid function tests are not sensitive enough to pick up T3. Moreover, the body is complex and enzymes are involved in the making, packaging and release of these hormones.I saved the first for last. You must control underlying inflammation. Frequent m/c is found to be and inflammatory response. The uterus is rejecting the fetus after the pregnancy has gone underway. This has happened repeatedly. Systemic enzymes like vitalzym is taken to balance the body long before you get pregant which will make the fetus to progress to term. These proteolytic enzymes also clean out the blood. Life is in the blood. The blood is not just the river of life; it is also the river of litters. Cleaning the blood preserves pregancy.

You should also balance the thyroid with thyroid essentials put together by swanson’s vitamins. It has all the vitamins, minerals, and herbs necessary to balance the thyroid. You must also avoid foods that are called goitrogens that hurt the thyroid and make the hormones to misfire causing hyperthyroidism.

You must balance not only the thyroid and its hormones but your whole body. Control inflammation by alkalizing your food. Eat organic foods to minimize toxins and acidic wastes that create inflammation (the cells are on fire). Detoxify the liver, the colon, and the kidneys because these internal organs work together. Take a baseline multivitamin like vitacost one a day. Please don’t use the one that says “woman’s one a day” or centrum. These commercial, mass produced vitamins are synthetic, and are made of petroleum products that create organophospates which worsen inflammatory reactions.

Fat loss is mandatory here if overweight is involved. By the way 15% of estrogens are metabolized by the thyroid gland. Fat cells worsen the thyroid problems because they produce excess estrogens the release pro-inflammatory cytokines that provoke free radicals and pollute the immune systems. Antibodies powers healing and tissue repair and enzymes drive the train.

Therefore you also need multi-enzyme blend like nattokinase or serrapeptase. These are proteolytic enzymes that eat away women fibrotic diseases.

You must eat whole foods to balance your body, regulate the thyroid, combat inflammation, balance your hormones and mop up free radicals. This is in addition to preparing your body for fertility and getting pregnant naturally.

Question by -: How does heart disease etc. cause downward curving fingernails?
Downward curving nails can be harmless or they can be signs of certain health conditions which can include heart, liver, respiratory and thyroid disease. I know *what* can cause it, but my question is HOW do these health problems cause the nails to curve?

… In other words, how does a thyroid problem, heart disease, etc., cause fingernails to curve under? I Googled this but can’t find an answer. Thanks.

Caution Guys! Cigarette Smoking Can Cause Thyroid Diseases!

Article by Sandy Tonsing

If you are addicted to cigarettes and other tobacco containing substances then you may become a victim of thyroid diseases. Yes guys, it is not an imaginary or false statement but a fact only. Details available on smoking and thyroid diseases make it apparent that certain substances available in cigarette smoke such as cyanide facilitate anti-thyroid mechanism inside the body and this may result in thyroid diseases. To add on, cigarette smoke contains harmful components that slow down the functioning process of the thyroid gland and this is considered to be one of the principal causes of thyroid diseases.

Guys, it is also noteworthy that studies undertake to evaluate the link between smoking and thyroid diseases have revealed that people under the grip of nicotine addiction are likely to have a certain amount of enlargement in the thyroid gland and this may result in thyroid problems. So buddy, it is definitely essential to quit smoking as soon as possible. Am I right?

If you are unable to stop smoking even after putting in a lot of quit smoking efforts, you should approach the doctor at the earliest. The physician may prescribe you the anti smoking drug chantix and altogether you can opt for Zyban, another medication available in the market that helps you trigger off smoking cessation. Guys, chantix is really effective and helps you get rid of cigarette addiction with ease. However, as soon as you administer chantix, it starts working immediately and induces a pleasure feeling in your mind that is similar to the one facilitated by nicotine in the brain. This reduces your cravings for the hazardous substance nicotine and this further makes it easier for you to stop smoking immediately.

Apart from chantix and zyban, there are a couple of other quit smoking ways available in the market and these are especially nicotine replacement therapies, namely, nicotine patches, lozenges and gum. However, before using any of these quit smoking measures, don’t forget to consult the doctor.

With chantix, you can facilitate smoking cessation without any difficulty and pertaining to this medication, it is notable that you can buy chantix online from authentic drug stores straight from home. Moreover, you can also buy chantix from a drug store located at the nearby market but to extract maximum benefits from this medicine, you need to take it as per the instructions of the physician only. Altogether, it is noteworthy that before administering chantix, you need to inform the doctor if you are taking any prescription-based drug or similar other medication.

Starting the Blue Cure Foundation to End Prostate Cancer www.facebook.com Interviewed by Chris Kelly | Video Shot & Edited by Donald Kilgore | www.donaldkilgore.com Gabe Canales is founder of Blue Cure, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization fighting to end prostate cancer: not just an old man’s cancer. Diagnosed at age 35. From Gabe Canales – A little about the Blue Cure Foundation I’m launching: Did you know prostate cancer is more common than breast cancer? Prostate cancer strikes 1 in 6 men, while breast cancer strikes 1 in 8 women. Last year, an estimated 217730 US men were diagnosed with prostate cancer and 32050 died of the disease, the most commonly diagnosed “male cancer.” When I was diagnosed last year at age 35, like most men I had little idea what it was. Now I do — and I want to help others learn, too. So I’ve spoken across the country, written for The Huffington Post and the Houston Chronicle, met with top doctors and researchers and appeared in interviews to raise awareness and educate others. Yes, I’m committed — and I’m devoting the rest of my life to raising awareness and saving lives. That’s why this summer (2011) I’m officially launching the Blue Cure Foundation, as the “blue” men’s side of the “pink” campaign for women’s breast cancer. Our goal is to raise awareness of prostate cancer, encourage annual screenings, promote healthier lifestyles for preventative measures and reach a younger generation. Please join me in the fight to end prostate

What can cause high blood pressure in a female who was perfectly fine before she gave birth?

Question by blutoadmirer: What can cause high blood pressure in a female who was perfectly fine before she gave birth?
An associate of mine of normal weight and blood pressure, got pregnant and developed high blood pressure throughout her pregnancy. The moment she gave birth, the BP went back to normal. The doctor told her she should never get pregnant again. Against his advice, she got pregnant again and the high blood pressure not only came back but it stayed and has been with her since. Still a fairly normal weight, her BP can be normal one day and way the next. Any ideas on what could be causing this? It even has her doctors stumped.

Best answer:

Answer by ☼▬krazegurl▬☼
A lot of times high bp is idiopathic, meaning doctors don’t know the cause of it. A lot of women get preeclampsia or high bp during p/g it’s quite common. As to why the high bp stayed with her after p/g there’s no telling. Even just a 10% weight gain can affect bp as well as salt, caffeine ect.. If your friend loses a bit of weight, cuts salt out of her diet and stops any and all caffeine she might see improvement. But otherwise she may just need to take a simple bp med from now on. I myself have high bp and have had it for 6 years and i’m only 28. My weight is a factor and my history as a bulimic affects it too, but even when i was skinny i still had high bp. I just accept it and work to keep it down with medication, diet, exercise, and no salt or caffine. People can live long healthy lives on bp med sif necessary. It’s not a huge life altering crisis..

What Are The Real Cause Of Diabetes?

“You take too much sugar and sweets, you will probably get diabetes!”

Isn’t this familiar? You probably get this from your relatives and friends.

However, this is a common misconception among people that eating candy, foods high in sugars and other “unhealthy” foods is the cause of diabetes. Having a sweet tooth does not mean that you will end up with diabetes. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you can go gorging on desserts and sweet things. Too much of anything is probably not healthy in the long run. If you are eating only sweet stuff day in and day out and not getting nutritional food, this sort of a bad diet can probably lead to diabetes eventually.

So what are the true causes of diabetes?

To learn about the cause of diabetes, we need to understand diabetes. There are two types of diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

Each sub-type has diverse causes and affect people of varied ages. Doctors and researchers all over the world still have not found out the real cause of type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is also called juvenile diabetes, diabetes mellitus, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, sugar diabetes or brittle diabetes. This type of diabetes is usually found in children and young adults, characteristically those below the age of thirty are found to have this type of the bad health.

It is believed that genetics play a major part of why some people are predisposed to growing type 1 diabetes. Another suspected cause of type 1 diabetes is when the body begin to attack the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. This results in the body not producing insulin anymore. Researchers and doctors are not sure why this occurs.

There is nothing that can be done to prevent type 1 diabetes, it is an autoimmune sickness.

A person who has type 2 diabetes still produces insulin but develops a resistance to insulin. Tissues in the body, such as muscles, do not respond to insulin and cannot use insulin to utilise glucose properly in the blood. Other organs such as the liver, along given the usual insulin-producing organ: the pancreas will increase insulin production. Finally the pancreas is unable to produce any more insulin and the tissues become even more insulin resistant.

How to lower your risk of growing Type 2 Diabetes?

Type 2 diabetes are usually casued by unhealthy lifestyle and eating habits. Those who are fat and physically inactive are at risk of this sickness. Especially those who have fat that is concentrated on the tummy. This type of diabetes usually affects people later in life usually around 52 and is often called late-onset diabetes. Recent statistics however, indicates that the average age of diagnosis is becoming lower as lifestyle habits change. If you have high cholesterol or high blood pressure, there is an increased chance of developing this disease.

To lower your risk, you really need to maintain a nutritious diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables including a regular exercise.
