Swan’s Japanese Horror Reviews 50: THE BEST AND WORST OF J-HORROR
So we have at last reached the milestone 50th installment of my japanese horror review series! In this mega episode, I begin by introducing three films that were key to getting me into the genre, and then I go over my personal top 5 worst and best j-horror films. I also hand out some additional honors and awards including: Best Villian Goriest Film Best Appearance by Santa Claus Worst Performance Scariest Film As with any best/worst of, these are just my humble opinions. I’m sure everyone on here is going to have a totally different list, but life would be no fun if we all thought the same right? I encourage you to write in the comments and let me know your own best/worst films! In closing, thanks so much for watching these videos over the past 2 years. These reviews have come a long way since the first review video on the ring. I’ve also grown into a much better looking guy, if I do say so myself. That’s neither here nor there however hah. Hopefully these videos have inspired some of you to go out and buy these dvds and support the great region one companies such as Tokyoshock and Tartan Asia Extreme. Gotta support the companies bringing these over to get more on the way! Thanks for watching everybody! rodger www.tokyoswan.blogspot.com

@thefatman69dude I agree completely. It is a real shame. I never even spoke to the guy, but he seemed genuine, and just a really sweet guy.
Rodger Swan – RIP

@Nyarlathotep9 yeah It came as quite a shock it was very unexpected since he was so young. I miss his reviews and I miss his other series. I never met him but I had a chance to experience japan through his eyes and it was indeed a great experience. most of my j horror I own because of his reviews. he was a fantastic guy who’s life was ended way to early.

@WuschelofDespair Swan died from internal bleeding in his abdominal cavity caused by pancreatitis. If you go to his channel, you’ll see his last video (which should be featured) was on Jan. 25th. He died 2 days later on the 27th. It is a huge shame that he died. I’m sorry to hear that your grandfather passed away also.

Oh no!!!! Why all knowledgeable, bright, unique human beings need to pass away so quickly. T.T.

Wow audition was a boring, WAY over hyped movie. I watched expecting to be mentally disturbed and scared but no. It is so drawn out. I kept asking “well maybe the horror is in the next see” but time after time i just got boring, confusing dialog. When the end came along and I got to see the “terribly horrorfying and gross” ending I sat, watching in amazment that so many ppl could get so worked up over someone with needles in their eyes. VERY dissapionting….

I’d like a review of Evil Dead Trap 2, if you can land your hands on a copy.
And as far as watching online, I only did that with a Thai film called ‘Scared’, for which no American release is planned, nor is there a version with English subs.

Rest in peace, Swan… I just found these videos and it makes me sad to know that there won’t be any more. Again, my condolences go out to Rodger’s loved ones…
