Out of Control Diabetes Intervention Part 1
FOR EDUCATION PURPOSES: John has type one diabetes but refuses to be diligent about checking his blood sugar, or taking his insulin. A social misfit and an outcast for many years, John wants to be considered a regular guy, and pretends to be one by eating whatever he wants without regard for his illness. He has been in a near-coma and hospitalized multiple times. His parents want to stop enabling his self-destructive behavior, but wont kick him out of the house because they fear hell die without their supervision.

April 29th, 2010 at 11:32 am
@LarryBizzerrd there’s way more to it than that. trust me. i’ve had it since i was 8 years old, and i’m still going through this type of stage in my life with diabetes.
it’s not cool to call him a “fucking idiot.” you try living the diabetic life for years and years and see how you feel about it.
April 29th, 2010 at 12:29 pm
@LarryBizzerrd Hey Lar’. You must be a pained lonely guy that hates everyone and really needs compassion.
I’ve been a type ! diabetic for 40 years and just found out I will be losing half of my foot to this disease.
I think John was commiting suicide. I;m glad he got help.
I tried to kill myself when I was a kid. I’m glad I didn’t. My life is wonderful and I’m glad there was were caring people when I needed help.
Some people need help. I’m glad John did, why don’t you.

I’m sorry but this guy is a FUCKNG IDIOT. “be a regular guy”? A part of being a regular guy is being ALIVE. This moron can’t bother himself to check his blood sugar and take his insulin for what? Doesn’t even want to help himself.

I’m watching this episode now on A&E. My heart aches for this guy. He makes bad choices because he probably feels like ‘if no one else gives a shit about me, why should I give a shit about me?’ I understand that feeling.

thats sad, i can be your friend john..
April 29th, 2010 at 2:42 pm
Jesus. He justs needs to see a Diabetic Specialist. One visit and all of his questions could be answered on how he’s supposed to take care of himself.

i’m deeply saddened that he died, but if he hadn’t gotten his act together sooner, he might’ve had a chance. my mom was diagnosed with it at age 8 and was forced to take care of it. i thank god for her vigilance now, but i’m still scared to death of losing her. my heart goes out to his family, its a tragic loss.

no one needs an intervention for them! buds not addictive and xtc builds up tolerance too fast, it just stops working
