@gekiryudojo By most standards levels of 229 are way too high; yet there is some evidence that some people benefit from having such high levels. I would advise monitoring this with your physician and also seeing where you actually feel best. How you feel is often the best measure of what your levels should be.

We use 4000 IU daily, so at 2000 you may not be increasing your level at all. I you were my client and you had vitamin D levels of 14, I would recommend 10,000 IU daily for 6-8 weeks and then recheck. I’d also advise spending time in the sun without burning without sunscreen.

How much is consider as over dosage for Vitamin D3? Overdo of anything could be harmful than benefit. I am taking vitamin D3 from many fish oil and multi vitamins, 1000 IU each. Thanks

I have -14 Vitamin D level result and my doctor advised me to take 2,000 IU of Vitamin D3 daily. Thnx for this video and it opens my mind how important Vit D in our body that we have forgotten for so many years…

@fabmd8 Sorry for the delay in responding to you. This isn’t a place that I typiclaly keep track of. We know that there is absolutely NO toxicity from use of sunlamps or being in sunshine. Some people have gone gung ho with vitamin D supplements and eventually got too much. For most of us taking 2000-4000 IU daily will be safe, but I do like to have people check vitamin D levels to see what they are doing. We’re looking for balance.

@gekiryudojo Thanks for staying in touch. This is terrific. Your last post indicated that your levels had gone way too high….. Do also get your vitamin A levels checked, and if possible vitamin K and E as well. The fat soluble vitamins work together. Too much of one or an auto-immune issue can push them all out of whack. Liz

@cindyaustx Dear Cindy,
Congratulations on this. Do monitor your vitamin D levels. Optimal is probably between 60-100 ng/ml but we don’t really know. Really high levels can cause their own problems, so MONITOR. typically once you are where you want to be, 200-5000 IU will keep you there. best, Liz

@gledalac1979 Just don’t go higher than that. Too much vitamin D is as bad as too little vitamin D. There’s controversy and we don’t know exactly what’s the right level, but we think between 60-100 ng/ml. Everything has the right balance point.

Hi Liz! if I wear a 30 spf sunscreen and sit out in the sun for 30 minutes, about how much vitamin D would I get. I like to protect my skin, so I never go out in the sun without protection. Please let me know.
This was an amazing video. Thank you

my vitamin d level was very low only 10 i was feeling awful i would spend most of my time in bed. i was fatigued, moody, joint pain with horrible tmj symptoms. Since taking vitamin d i no longer have tmj flare-ups, it has completly cleared 100%. i think anyone with tmj should have thier vitamin d level checked. I HAVE NEVER FELT BETTER!

Being disabled & rarely getting out, I figured my vit.D3 levels had to be as low as you can get. After some research, I took 34,000iu a day for 17 days & my fibromyalgia pain was gone. I lowered intake to 8,000iu a day for 19 days & pain returned. I did 40,000iu a day for 10 days & pain was gone in 3 days. It’s been almost 4 months now since I started & am now doing about 10,000iu day & pain free. I’ve had FM for 10 years.

I can now walk 5 miles stay up all day and well have not been ill! even my neurologist said keep on with it! Meds? I’m not on any! just D3! had RR MS 15 years

i was directed here by youtube because of another video i watched. I was thinking, if she says 10 mg I’ll know she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
This video was simply wonderful. And, you referenced the stuff I have read also. I was unpleasantly surprised about the African American levels of vitamin D. I concentrate on us, and am worried about our health.
