Dr Whiting on Chronic Disease Alternatives

There are many myths about diet and health that have come to be taken for truths simply because they have been repeated so many times. If you were to ask virtually anyone over the age of 40 what is the major cause of heart disease they would likely say elevated cholesterol. The fact is that excess cholesterol has never caused a single case of heart disease in medical history. Statin drugs, used to lower cholesterol have many side effects. In fact, statin drugs are one of only a few groups of drugs that require routine blood tests because they are so dangerous. Statin drugs should be avoided and used only as a last resort. Elevated cholesterol can be managed by natural means. These can provide the same control by nourishing the liver and lowering elevated cholesterol. Another myth is that the artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, splenda, and saccharin do not cause weight gain. Not only do aspartame, splenda, and saccharin cause weight gain, but these sweeteners can have other side effects as well. Using aspartame, splenda or saccharin in moderation is fine, but excess can cause weight gain. Low fat diets are another myth as we are told that they are the best way to lose weight. Low fat diets are very dangerous as fat, the right fat, is essential. The dangers of low fat diets are many and include dry skin, loss of hair and liver problems. Free radicals have also been ignored as less than important but the fact is that free radical damage to cells of the body is the

@MercuryRis high protein is full of phosphorus, very acidic , I have been there.. better to eat it with fat, then it will be in balance.

At 75 my father was pretty healthy. He was strong and had no arthritis, was mentally sharp and independent. At a checkup Dr said he had plaque in one of his arteries (from what I saw it never really bothered him). From the time he started taking statins until his death his body and mind fell apart, he died of a hemorrhaging stroke at 79. Before he died he was on oxygen, had amnesia, muscle wasting to name a few. I really wish I would have known statin side effects when he started that poison.

The role diet plays in preventing illnesses is immense. The basic rule for a good diet is to avoid artificial foods and foods with high amounts of additives. In other words, if you can’t pronounce half of the ingredients in a packaged food, don’t eat it!!!!

  4. MercuryRis Says:

All the information there…dont eat meat, no sugar, no shellfish, no soy, no carbs, one guy even says bananas are bad. Some I feel like all this stuff can make us starve to death. Im doing high protein, lower carbs and an occasional cookie. :)

    Hi Dr Whiting,
I thought I would drop you a line to let you know the good news – my latest cholesterol is down the 191! It has not been below 200 for over 20+ years! I am so glad I do not have to take prescription meds. I take 2 cholesteze in the AM and 2 before going to bed. It has taken almost 18 months to get there. Thank you for all the wonderful work you do. A grateful Curves Owner

Excellent information, for the most part. However, I am surprised that you advocate using artificial sweeteners in moderation, with food!
In my opinion, they are neurotoxins, so should be avoided completely, just like other toxins that are avoidable by choice. Thanks for the information!
