Dr. Donald Tashkin Marijuana Lung Cancer Study Pt 1 of 2

Pulmonary specialist and Federal Government researcher from UCLA Geffen School of Medicine finds that marijuana does not cause lung cancer in his study on the effects of cannabis and the lungs. Results of this study are discussed for the first time. If you agree that cannabis should be legal, write a letter to your congressperson and tell them to legalize it! Cannabis was made illegal because the paper industry was split between the hemp and the wood pulp factions. The wood pulp people had more money and won, which caused a negative ripple effect in our society such as the loss of a valuable medicine. Since the prohibition of cannabis began the cancer rates have grown at an alarming rate. Cannabis is used for thousands of purposes and it’s loss of use has caused great hardship to everyone. It is time for truth to prevail and prohibition to stop.

@Unlocalist its not seed oil its bud oil
    seeds dont have thc

  6. jjl23972 Says:

Tobacco puts tar in your lungs when smoked.
Marijuana puts resin in your lungs when smoked, just as you see with a unclean bong and too much smoking of Marijuana can result in irregular breathing because of the build up of resin. So if one were to smoke once in a while that would not happen. Marijuana can also be vaporized(smokeless) or baked into various foods which will prevent the build up of resin. No matter how you consume tobacco, it will always negatively affect the body.

  7. Unlocalist Says:

If only Bob knew that hemp seed oil and some of the active compounds in cannabis can cure cancer = Anyone interested should watch ‘Rick Simpson – Run from the cure’, and anyone really into the science behind it should look at a brilliant piece of research published by Complutense University in Madrid entitled ‘Cannabinoid action induces autophagy in human glioma cells’

  8. ElectricSparks2425 Says:

Marijuana prohibition is costly wasteful and isn’t working. Alcohol today is recognized as harmless form of intoxication when used responsibly, even with possible health benefits in moderation. I could demonize it saying “Alcohol kills brain cells and liver cells. getting drunk can kill you.” There have been ZERO cases of death as a result from marijuana overdose. Fear mongering is overused. The most likely harm to result from responsible Marijuana intoxication is the disproportionate punishment

  9. ElectricSparks2425 Says:

NIDA(agency in charge of MJ research)admitted banning investigations. It does “not fund research focused on the potential medical benefits of marijuana”.AMA isn’t permitted to further studies indicating Cannabis reduces neuropathic pain, improves appetite/caloric intake especially in patients w/ reduced muscle mass, may relieve spasticity and pain in patients with multiple sclerosis.Marijuana is remarkable in comparatively FEW side effects.Oppressing research is not a part of the scientific method

  10. ElectricSparks2425 Says:

See this is truth. Marijuana is not a highly harmful/addictive form of intoxication. Similar to cigarettes/alcohol when smoked, let alone compared to risk of many prescription drugs, or when eaten ie. in brownies (the healthier form of intoxication). Police have better things to do with their time

  11. ElectricSparks2425 Says:

People do marijuana: it’s prohibition is inefficient and ineffective. The government should focus on HIGHLY HARMFUL AND ADDICTIVE DRUGS, marijuana intoxication is NOT a highly addictive or harmful form of intoxication. The most dangerous thing about marijuana use is the disproportionate punishment. Has NOT deterred people from being intoxicated by marijuana instead of other more harmful and addictive legally classified forms of intoxication such as alcohol/cigarettes

@Johnnywad56 what you do know that bob marley smoke tobacco also right and weed just leaves resin but it is absorb into the blood stream

  14. zaveyboy Says:

    true.

  15. spiderman292007 Says:

The spread of melanoma to his lungs and brain caused his death

  16. spiderman292007 Says:

Bob Marley died from lung cancer.

  17. chtezilagel Says:

Bob Marley died from skin cancer that was on his toe that wasn’t treated in a timely manner and had spread. This doctor- Dr. Tashkin, in his 2006 study that had over 2,000 participants, found no link to COPD, emphysema, or lung cancer so I’m not sure what you’re talking about here. You should check out the three part series with Dr. Tashkin on here where he presents these findings.

  18. Johnnywad56 Says:

One could attempt to alert the legendary musician Bob Marley that according to this Doctor’s findings that smoking marijuana deposits four times the amount of carcinogenic tar into the lungs than ‘a similar mass of tobacco’ smoke does, but Mr. Marley, magnificent marijuana maven that he was, unfortunately died of lung cancer.

  19. bxdag Says:

    look this documental
the union the business behind getting high

  20. aolthof007 Says:

OK, it’s like some of you can’t remember what is in the video. The Dr. in the video says that cannabis does NOT cause cancer but actually kills off the cancer cells before they get a chance to grow. The side effect of smoking cannabis is minimal throat irritation that goes away almost immediately. Ingesting pot or using a vaporizer will eliminate the throat irritation. There has never been a documented case of cancer caused by using cannabis, EVER.

  21. SergeantPepper8 Says:

I fogot to say that it probably wont give you lung cancer as long as your are active in some small way like just taking walks or something like that would be able to repair your lungs.

  22. SergeantPepper8 Says:

I will say this, smokming marijuana does damage your lungs but in a very smaller way than tobacco would or alcohol would damage your body. This is because marijuana is not addictive. If everyone who craved another pack of cigs picked up a J and smoked that instead, a lot of people would be having less lung problems. I’ll say again that even though it does damage your lungs, you do not crave 10 more bowls or weed or another blunt. A lot of money and time would be saved if it was decriminalized.

  23. mrarches Says:

Anyone who believes smoking marijuana, does not have the possibility of causing cancer is nuts.

  24. Vendark Says:

From 17:05 onward a PULMONARY (Lung) SPECIALIST has stated: “The Bottom line is, we failed to find any positive association between marijuana and cancer in the lungs.”

Well, guess that settles it. Anyone else who says otherwise is an ignorant idiot who just listens to their mommy and daddy instead of finding the truth for themselves or listening to someone with actual FACTS.

  25. mrarches Says:

    ClassicGameMaster,nice1 mate.
marijuana smoking will fuck you up.
how can it not be harmful to put smoke into delicate lungs?
take no notice of these losers and get off it while you are still young enough.
your lungs will repair themselves soon enough.
